2015 Toyota Camry Details

For years the Toyota Camry has been one of the most popular and reliable cars in America. So we're again excited to again take a look at the newest version in the 2015 Camry. Since we know many of our customers and fans would like to know about what's changing, we put together a few details about the new model!

What's changed?

The 2015 model will be slightly longer than 2014 (2 inches).

·       It also has an aggressive front end like its luxury cousin car, Lexus.
·
“(A) pronounced body line starts from the Camry’s muscular front fender and spans across the doors and rear quarter panel, conveying a sense of motion. The completely revised, more aggressive front bumper cover features a wider more prominent trapezoidal grille shape, expressing a lower centre of gravity.” -Toyota, New York International Auto Show

Trucks: The Perfect Vehicle for Women

Alright ladies, let's talk trucks!

Have you ever wanted to get some extra top soil for your garden, but had to settle for those obnoxious bags of dirt because you didn't have a truck to get a load of soil with? What about that darling china hutch you spotted at the antiques store but had to pass up because you had no way to get it home? Well girls, trucks aren't just for the boys anymore! A recent Consumer Report established that almost 51% of recent truck sales are to women. The notion that only men drive trucks is a thing of the past. Trucks are more affordable, economical and family friendly than ever! Women are no longer resigned to Mini Vans in an effort to provide their family with a safe, comfortable and efficient means of travel. Toyota's new line of trucks rival any vehicle on the road for the versatility you want, and the safety and features you and your family need.

Common sense would lead us to the conclusion that when a collision takes place, the vehicle with the greater mass has a substantially lower risk of injury to its occupants. Because of this, the 2014 Toyota Tundras are some of the safest vehicles on the road! These new models have lower anchors and tethering seat-belts for children, child protecting rear locks, as well as front and rear parking assist sensors available on certain models. What's more, not only is it an extremely safe ride, it is also incredibly comfortable. The 2014 Tundras have a ton of cargo room; the Crew Max Edition boasts over five feet in shoulder and hip room in the front seat alone, and a back seat with over three and a half feet of leg room.

Come check out the incredible inventory of Toyota trucks in Spokane, and I'm sure you'll agree that our trucks are an awesome new option in function, affordability and family safety and comfort!
I would love to show you how great these trucks are!

Spokane Winter Driving Tips

The weather outside always eventually gets frightful here in Spokane. This can create treacherous driving conditions, even for the experienced snow driver. So for those of you who have to brave the winter wonderland, the LHM Downtown Toyota team put together some helpful tips for driving in winter conditions.

First of all, it's important that you keep a few items in your vehicle in case you need them:
  • Ice scraper
  • Tire chains
  • Small shovel or ice pick
  • Water supply
  • A flashlight
  • Gloves, coats and blankets
  • Signal devices, such as a flare
One thing that will make a tremendous impact on your ability to grip the road in slippery conditions is your tires. Snow tires should be applied to your vehicle to help you get the maximum amount of traction. It's also important to keep your tires properly inflated. Remember, your tires are the only part of the vehicle that touches the road!

Here are a few driving tips that will also help you stay out of trouble in icy and snowy conditions:
  • Slow down! This might seem obvious, but your ability to stop and stay in control depends upon your speed.
  • Brake gently and leave plenty of room. If your wheels lock up, or you feel your vehicle sliding when attempting to stop, pump your brakes--don't stand on them.
  • Steer in the direction you want your front end to go. If your rear wheels slide left, gently turn the wheel left. If your rear wheels slide right, gently turn to the right to gain control.
  • AWD or 4X4 vehicles perform much better in the snow that other vehicles.
  • Don't panic! If you feel your vehicle start to slide, don't try to overcorrect the situation. Pump your brakes and use gentle maneuvering to steer the vehicle.
We wish you all a safe and happy holiday season! Plan ahead and be careful out there!

Car Buying for Women

Even today, the first thing that goes through some women's minds when heading out to shop for a new vehicle is, "What man can I bring with me so I can get the best deal?" The good news is, you don't have to feel this way!

Are you intimidated by the automobile industry? Would you perfer to do business online? Do you feel like you are treated differently when you go into a dealership because you are a woman?  You're not alone. Automobiles have largely been sold the same way for many years, despite many cultural changes and new trends. However, the automobile arena is no longer a male dominated industry, and everyone now has access to information that can empower you in your buying experience. Research shows that women, now more than ever, are influencing car buying decisions, and over 85% of all consumer decisions are now made by women. There are two important things that you'll need to feel confident and comfortable when purchasing a car. The first is information. Being informed will help you decide which vehicle is right for you, and the type of deal you can expect to get on that vehicle. The second thing is a dealership that you can trust--and our mission at Larry H. Miller Toyota Spokane is to deliver an honest and fair experience to anyone that walks in our doors.

Being a woman in the industry, I have learned that buying a car as a woman isn't just about finding a vehicle; it's a theater for your children when traveling, a place to share stories with your friends on a road trip, or an economical commuter vehicle. Most women target safety, ride comfort, quality, dependability, and handling as the main qualities they look for in a vehicle. Fortunately, Toyota has something to meet all of those needs.

At Larry H. Miller Toyota Spokane, I work to gather as much information about each individual's needs as possible, and point them in the right direction. Pressure selling is now a way of the past. My purpose is to make your car buying experience as easy and comfortable as possible--during and after your purchase. If you are a woman looking for an enjoyable, no pressure car buying experience, I look forward to meeting with you and listening to your needs and desires.  I am confident that at Larry H. Miller Toyota, we can help you get into the vehicle that meets and exceeds all your expectations!

Happy Holidays,

Life After The Sale

Not only is getting a great deal important when deciding to buy a car, but finding a dealership that can offer you comfort throughout the lifetime of your car is just as important. At Larry H. Miller Toyota Spokane, we take exceptional pride in our service staff and accommodations.

Being new to Larry H. Miller and the sales industry myself, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting one of our dedicated patrons of our service department this past weekend. Paula Gordon, who loves her Prius so much that she coordinates her trips from hundreds of miles away to get her car serviced at Larry H. Miller Downtown Toyota, was outside the service department enjoying a hot cup of coffee when we started up a conversation. She informed me that every time she comes here, her service advisor Chris Jamison makes her feel right at home. What she said to me was profound... “There is life after the sale.”  At Larry H. Miller, we understand life is hectic and busy; the last thing anyone wants to worry about is their car.

For me, this is just one of the many reasons I enjoy working at Larry H. Miller. Our relationship with you doesn’t end when you drive off the lot. We are committed to your satisfaction and the life of your car, even after the sale.

Drive For Good

The Larry H. Miller Downtown Toyota Spokane “Drive For Good” charity program was created to engage the community and give back to the amazing local charities that do so much in the Spokane area.  In our third and most recent round of Drive For Good, supporters voted between five deserving organizations, and eventually chose Beyond Pink to receive a $5,000 donation.

Beyond Pink is a wonderful organization that seeks to help women with the early detection of breast cancer through a process called Thermography. Thermography is a diagnostic procedure that is non-invasive and can detect issues up to 10 years before other procedures. We are very proud to be able to contribute to the Beyond Pink cause, especially during the month of October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

As our community has gathered around this program and has shown their support through their votes and enthusiasm, we have been privileged to observe the overwhelming kindness and care that surrounds us. We feel lucky to have the opportunity to give back the community that has given so much to us. After all, that was the purpose of creating the Drive For Good program.

We plan to continue the Drive For Good by holding future rounds and donating to more organizations.  If you’d like to get your organization involved, please reach out to us and let us know. If you’d like to stay up-to-date on Drive For Good, as well as other Larry H. Miller Toyota Spokane news, check back on our website, or Like us on Facebook.

Congratulations to Beyond Pink, and thank you to all who participated! We look forward to doing this again soon.
